Measure confidently. Install carefully.
How to Guides
Use these practical steps for a smoother made-to-measure order. Every window is different, so measure each opening separately and ask our team when a detail is unclear.
Step one
How to Measure
Use a metal tape measure and record dimensions in inches. Measure to the nearest one-eighth inch supported by the product configurator.
Choose the mount
An inside mount fits within the window opening. An outside mount covers the opening and needs enough overlap for privacy and light control.
Measure the width
For an inside mount, measure the internal width at the top, middle and bottom. Record all three and follow the product’s requested finished-width instruction. For an outside mount, measure the full area you want covered.
Measure the height
Measure at the left, centre and right. Check that handles, trim and the sill will not obstruct the blind.
Check before ordering
Measure the window again, label the room, and enter the exact values in the configurator. Do not assume two windows are identical.
Step two
How to Install
- Unpack and verify. Match the blind and hardware to the room label, then read the product-specific instructions.
- Mark the brackets. Hold each bracket in position, confirm it is level and clear of moving parts, then mark the fixing holes.
- Use suitable fixings. The correct fastener depends on the wall, trim or ceiling material. Fix brackets into a secure structure.
- Fit and test the blind. Seat the headrail or roller securely, attach any safety device supplied, and test the full movement before regular use.
Work safely, keep children and pets away from tools and cords, and use a professional for high or difficult windows.
